Alexis was about to marry the man of her dreams and he
abruptly stopped the wedding right before he was to say "I
do." Which completely rocked her world and she found her
comfort in a man that has been close to her and longing for
her since first sight.
Simone has never had a real relationship and when she
found what she thought was love in her best friend's fiance;
she destroyed her bond with all of her friends and realized the
grass isn't always greener.
While Simone's twin sister Sidney has had the perfect
marriage for seventeen years, she takes it all for granted.
When her husband's past fling came to haunt them again, she
looses sight of all she has right in front of her to risk it all for a
one night stand.
And then there is Tracy, who has been longing for her
husband that died tragically and while dealing with the guilt of
his death; she just may loose love right in front of her face.
These four women share a bond from their mother's long-time
friendship.
They have to deal with jealousy, envy, betrayal, guilt,
insecurities and love for one another. Can these four women
find love with all that surrounds them? Who needs enemies
when there is Nothing Like Friends.
Shannon Davis' debut novel is seasoned with drama, love,
obstacles, pain and lust. The finished product - a good book.
Her characters are realistic and relatable. Readers feel their
pain as well as their joy. I definitely recommend this book,
especially to book clubs. It should make for some lively
discussions. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

romance.........it is one of the best books I have read this year.

Shannon N. Davis is new to writing, but writes like she has
done this a few times. She writes about the bonds of
friendships, not only of women but as men as well. Capturing
the complexities of relationships through her characters. The
storyline flows well and the dialog is frank and honest, like
only a girlfriend can give. With the supporting male
characters, Davis is able to give a different views on
male/female relationships. I liked the reality she created the
characters in, for every action they made there was reaction
or a consequence they had to deal with.
